Q. How long are visits and what do you do during that time?
A. The typical visit is 30 minutes long. We offer more time if needed for a fee. More pets require more time. During the visit, we take care of everything your pet(s) need and what was discussed with you and the sitter during the meet and greet. Some of the many things that we like to do during a visit are: walk your dog, feed your pets, give fresh water, clean litter boxes, give medication, and give your pets tons of love and attention. We also bring in your mail, rotate lighting, and open and close blinds.
Q. What time will you come to my home?
A. Visits are between the hours of 6:30 am and 9:30 pm. We are able to accommodate visits outside of those hours for an additional fee.
Q. How do I schedule a sitter?
A. If you are a new client, please call Comfy Critters at 919-931-0268 to schedule a meet and greet where you will get to meet your sitter. You can also email us at donna@comfycrittersnc.com.
Q. What happens at a meet and greet?
A. Our free first meeting for new clients is tailored around your schedule. This is the time that you get to meet the sitter that will be watching your pets. It’s also our chance to get to know you and your pets.
During the meet and greet, we will go over important paperwork and go over everything we need to know to take care of your pets. We go over your pet’s routine, likes/dislikes, and any medication that needs to be given. At the meet and greet, please have 2 sets of keys available (or 2 ways of getting into the house).
Q. Why do you require 2 ways to get into the house?
A. During the meet and greet, we will discuss the preferred way to get into your house. We require 1 key which will stay with your sitter as well as an additional form of entry (either a key, coded door, or garage opener) in case of emergencies.
Q. How far in advance should I book a petsitter?
A. For pet sitting, we require booking Comfy Critters at least two weeks before you go out of town to schedule visits with your pets. We book up very quickly during holidays and summer months, so we require four weeks’ notice if you plan to be away during these busier periods.
For regular dog walking clients, please give at least 24 hours notice for needing a midday visit.
Q. Are there any extra fees for visits during the holidays?
A. For visits over Thanksgiving weekend (Wednesday-Friday), Christmas ( Dec 24th-26th), New Years’ Eve/Day, Easter Sunday, 4th of July, Memorial Day weekend, and Labor Day weekend, there will be an extra $5 fee for each visit.
Q. What if I need to schedule short notice?
A. Please call or email Comfy Critters and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Q. Are there any cancellation fees once I book?
A. Cancellation of pet sitting reservations before major holidays (see above) must be at least 14 days prior to the date of the first scheduled visit. All other reservations require at least 7 days’ notice before the date of the first scheduled visit. If a reservation is canceled less than the time explained above, you will be charged up to 100%.
